Robert Beaton Bio

Bob Beaton operates his own technology consulting business where he focuses on providing enterprise architecture and system engineering services to clients in the DoD and Intelligence communities.  For the past 10 years his interests have been focused on the automation of critical processes in large scale, mission critical systems, including command and control systems, intelligence systems, and military weapons systems.  He is currently working with the DoD’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) – supporting their efforts to provide enterprise artificial intelligence services to the DoD.  Over the past 20 years Bob has provided enterprise engineering expertise to a wide range of clients including DoD CIO, SPAWAR, DCSA, ONR, ONI, PEO C4I, AFSPACECOM, USSTRATCOM, USINDOPACOM, and US Navy TENCAP.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Bob worked at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) from 1997-99 where he managed programs in battlefield information management and C4ISR.  From 1984-1996 he was worked at Draper Laboratory.  First as a research engineer developing autonomous control systems and artificial intelligence solutions for autonomous air and undersea vehicles and later as a program manager overseeing Draper’s C4ISR programs.

Bob attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1978-1984, receiving a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Aeronautical and Astronautics Engineering – focusing on Control Systems and Operations Research.
